The Australian Lung Foundation's COPD eNews is now back on line. This newsletter will be published every four months.
The function of the eNewsletter is to provide a vehicle for clinical and interested parties to communicate their news in relation to COPD.

Update to COPDX Guidelines
The latest version of the COPDX Guidelines (version 2.5) has recently been posted on the COPDX reference site, www.copdx.org.au following approval from the Australian Lung Foundation’s COPD Evaluation Committee and Coordinating Committee in March 2006.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Toolkit Launched at TSANZ
After months in the making, the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Toolkit has been launched at the TSANZ Annual Scientific Meeting in Canberra.
The Toolkit, which is accessible as a web-based tool has been developed in association with the Australian Physiotherapy Association to help health professionals establish pulmonary rehabilitation programmes anywhere in Australia, whether in metropolitan or rural and remote settings. The toolkit can be viewed at www.pulmonaryrehab.com.au

Australasian COPD Research Network Established

Australian Lung Foundation to Survey COPD Patients on Mental Health Issues
With winter approaching the physical and psychological effects of COPD become more exaggerated for many people. In an attempt to raise awareness of the impact COPD can have on mental well-being, The ALF has recently sent out a survey to the COPD patients on its database.

Patient Support Groups
Project 200
Patient Support Groups have an important role in bringing together people who are affected by a lung condition. They offer support, encouragement, education and companionship. Increasing the number of support groups has been a recent LungNet focus with the launch of Project 200.
